Heartgard Plus
Heartgard Plus is indicated for use in dogs to prevent canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection, and for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms.

How Heartgard Plus works
Heartgard Plus prevents canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense).
How can you properly administer Heartgard Plus?
Heartgard Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) should be administered orally at monthly intervals at the recommended minimum dose level of 6 mcg of ivermectin per kilogram (2.72 mcg/lb) and 5 mg of pyrantel (as pamoate salt) per kg (2.27 mg/lb) of body weight. The recommended dosing schedule for the prevention of canine heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of ascarids and hookworms is as follows:

Heartgard Plus is recommended for dogs 6 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lb use the appropriate combination of these chewables.
What are the precautions in using Heartgard Plus?
All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with Heartgard Plus which is not effective against adult D. immitis. Infected dogs must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with Heartgard Plus. While some microfilariae may be killed by the ivermectin in Heartgard Plus at the recommended dose level, Heartgard Plus is not effective for microfilariae clearance. A mild hypersensitivity-type reaction, presumably due to dead or dying microfilariae and particularly involving a transient diarrhea, has been observed in clinical trials with ivermectin alone after treatment of some dogs that have circulating microfilariae.

Very Good
Dogs have no problem taking heartworm medicine. Beef flavor is the best and my dogs really like it.
Best heart worm preventive
Chewables that my dogs love. They're into it. And that's a rare scenario because usually they spit medicines. They love the taste. Little did they know that I'm giving them a heart worm preventive. And I can say this product works because I had my dogs on heart worm check last month and they are negative. Great one!
Best tasting meds
The dogs love it!! Beef flavoured chews added impact on the med. It makes the dogs easier to feed. No more hassle on giving their monthly preventive/treat.
Say no to heart worms
I'm afraid of my dogs having heart worms. I always want them being protected from this. Since in serious cases, this is fatal. Good thing Joe's PEt Meds offer affordable products. I gotta save almost half of its price. Thank you!

Been on this product for years now and never had any problem with heart worms. It just proves how effective this med is. And I love it. My dogs love it too, it's their monthly treat. The additional beef flavoured chews was such a great help.
Great Product. Best for my pets.
I am bought this product since 2005 for my Shiba Inu and after two years for my second pet, without any problem. My pets never got a heart worm problem, since two years ago we used it in my third pet and she is healthy as my other pets. I really recommended this product!!!!. Try it for avoid healthy problems and suffering to your pet.
Heart worm protection
I still consider this as the best despite of cheaper meds popping around. This is still the most effective. Certified no heart worms on my three furbabies and I'm very confident they won't be able to catch any because I'm giving them a monthly dose of Heartgard Chewables.

Original brand
Original is still the best. And I don't have any problems of buying it even more expensive than other brands. This is what I trust and this is what I gonna buy. I'm pretty sure I get the maximum protection I need for my baby.
