Heartgard Plus
Heartgard Plus is indicated for use in dogs to prevent canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection, and for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms.

How Heartgard Plus works
Heartgard Plus prevents canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense).
How can you properly administer Heartgard Plus?
Heartgard Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) should be administered orally at monthly intervals at the recommended minimum dose level of 6 mcg of ivermectin per kilogram (2.72 mcg/lb) and 5 mg of pyrantel (as pamoate salt) per kg (2.27 mg/lb) of body weight. The recommended dosing schedule for the prevention of canine heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of ascarids and hookworms is as follows:

Heartgard Plus is recommended for dogs 6 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lb use the appropriate combination of these chewables.
What are the precautions in using Heartgard Plus?
All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with Heartgard Plus which is not effective against adult D. immitis. Infected dogs must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with Heartgard Plus. While some microfilariae may be killed by the ivermectin in Heartgard Plus at the recommended dose level, Heartgard Plus is not effective for microfilariae clearance. A mild hypersensitivity-type reaction, presumably due to dead or dying microfilariae and particularly involving a transient diarrhea, has been observed in clinical trials with ivermectin alone after treatment of some dogs that have circulating microfilariae.

heart worms
If you're looking for a trusted brand and an effective one then go for Heartgard Chewables. Don't mind the price. Just think of your pets and safety. Anyway buying in Joe's still makes this one cheaper than from other stores. I'm using it for my dogs and I've never been this satisfied about ordering a product online. This is a great one. Buy this!

This is a great product. The taste is great too. My dogs love it and they will even ask for more. I find it effective too since he never turned positive on heart worms since I used this. I will definitely buy more of this.
Our dogs love Heartgard
Our two pugs love Heartgard. I always give it last, and they are willing to stand still to get their flea medication, because they know the Heartgard is next, and they act like it is the biggest treat of the month.
Greatest ever
I super love this product. Since I started using this my dogs never turned positive on heart worms. And the other thing is it became a habit for us. He thinks this is a treat he can have every month. And he loves it.
Heart worm prevention
I don't regret buying this med. Yes it may be a bit costly but it's fine. It greatly protects my two babies from heart worms. And I'm confident they won't be getting any with these product. So the price is very much worth it. For anyone who's looking for a heart worm preventive, I definitely recommend this one.
Original still the best
Might be a little bit costly but this is still my choice. Coz my dogs love it and its taste. So hassle was lessen with this product. And it greatly protects my dogs from heart worms. I'll still go for this one!
