Heartgard Plus
Heartgard Plus is indicated for use in dogs to prevent canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection, and for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms.

How Heartgard Plus works
Heartgard Plus prevents canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense).
How can you properly administer Heartgard Plus?
Heartgard Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) should be administered orally at monthly intervals at the recommended minimum dose level of 6 mcg of ivermectin per kilogram (2.72 mcg/lb) and 5 mg of pyrantel (as pamoate salt) per kg (2.27 mg/lb) of body weight. The recommended dosing schedule for the prevention of canine heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of ascarids and hookworms is as follows:

Heartgard Plus is recommended for dogs 6 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lb use the appropriate combination of these chewables.
What are the precautions in using Heartgard Plus?
All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with Heartgard Plus which is not effective against adult D. immitis. Infected dogs must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with Heartgard Plus. While some microfilariae may be killed by the ivermectin in Heartgard Plus at the recommended dose level, Heartgard Plus is not effective for microfilariae clearance. A mild hypersensitivity-type reaction, presumably due to dead or dying microfilariae and particularly involving a transient diarrhea, has been observed in clinical trials with ivermectin alone after treatment of some dogs that have circulating microfilariae.

Best for my dogs
Heartworm meds are important for me. Especially I live in Florida and there are really lots of mosquitoes. Who knows maybe half of those carry heartworms. So I really need protection for my dogs. Glad there's Heartgard Plus Chewables. It makes me feel relieved that my dogs will never get heartworm disease.
what more can i ask for?
I can't think of any heartworm preventive that works like Heartgard plus. Not only that it keeps my 2 year old poodle from heartworms but also of its taste. My poodle always feel excited about heartgard. I guess she loves its taste because it is beef flavoured. Also, it is affordable! So what more can I ask for? Very happy with heartgard
What's not to love!?
I love Heartgard plus and nowhere else beats the price! For my 43 lb adopted mix, $31 for 6 months is awesome. It totally beats the cost from the vet's office. I schedule the Heartgard and flea meds (also from Joe's pet meds) with her monthly bath, so this doubles as her after bath treat. She loves the taste so much, she has no idea it's actually medicine! We're both happy.

Heartworm preventive!
I love how products like heartgard varies depending on your dog size. It is easy to administer since it's a chewable. And my dogs love its taste! My dorgs are protected from heartworms in just a chew!
Heartgard Plus
My vet prescription for my furbaby is this product however it is so expensive! Good thing my mom recommended Joe's to me. Your prices are so great! Thank you Joe's! And thank you Heartgard for keeping my furbaby healthy and free from heartworms.
Only the Best for my Dog
I don't know of any other Heartworm medication that provides the same level of effectiveness guaranteed. I have read horror stories from people using other products, but have never heard or read anything bad about Heargard Plus. I contemplated the Generic, but I am just not into gambling with my dog's health & well being.
Dogs love it!
I always have problems giving my dogs any medications but this is the one product where the dogs think they are getting a treat each time they take it!
