Product Detail: Generic Heartgard (Ivermectin)
Nuheart Generic Heartgard Alternative is a monthly treatment for the prevention of heartworm in canines. This generic medication contains the same ingredient at the same dose rate as the Heartgard brand of Heartworm prevention medication, so it has just the same effectiveness, but costs a fraction of the price.
Nuheart makes dosing easy! The tablets are very small in size, across the entire range, which ensures easier dosing and less rejection. And Nuheart’s sweetly meat flavoured base is attractive to dogs and makes "tablet time" simple. For difficult dogs, Nuheart can even be dissolved quickly in a small amount of water and mixed in the pet’s food, so they won’t even know they’ve had their medication.
Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions: Adverse reactions may occur when dogs already infested with adult heartworm or microfilariae are treated with Nuheart tablets. It is important to check the dog for such infestations prior to treatment.Nuheart tablets have a wide margin of safety in most dogs, but some adverse reactions may occur especially in Collies and Border Collies. If a dog develops untoward effects a veterinarian should be consulted immediately.
Dosage and Administration: Treatment should occur regularly at monthly intervals. Give the dog one tablet once a month on the same day or within a few days of the same day. If a tablet is missed in a month the prevention program may not be effective and a veterinarian should be consulted.
Give tablet by placing it on back of dog’s tongue and pushing it down throat with finger. Alternatively, tablet can be dissolved in 5 to 10 mL warm water or other fluid and added to the dog’s feed. Ensure entire dose is consumed; if it is not, give another tablet.
If a tablet is missed by not more than seven days give a tablet immediately and resume the monthly dosing program. If more than seven days has elapsed, consult your veterinarian for advice.
Each tablet contains: ivermectin
Storage: Store below 30 deg. C (room temperature). Protect from light.

No to heart worms
Generic Heartgard works so well. In fact, it is the best I've ever tried. No heart worms ever since I put my pet on this medication.

Couldn't ask for more. I got huge savings from buying generics at Joe's. Meds are not nearly expired. Meds are on perfect condition and are very effective to my dogs. They never had heart worms. Thanks to Generic Heartgard.

Best price
I'm giving this to my dogs all year around. And since I use it the whole year, I needed the best possible price. And Joe's Pet Meds have that.
No Worms, AMEN
Since bringing home both of my puppies I have been using this product and buying it from Joes Pet Meds. Thus far (6 years), my dogs have been heart worm free.
Great Price Great Product
I have been using this generic brand for the past 2 years and it is just as good as the brand name product. Bentley has just had his yearly physical and it was another thumbs up year. Thanks for making this product available at an affordable price.
Great Savings!
Works perfectly fine and costs less than half what the local vet charges.
Generic Heartgard
I have been getting your generic heartguard for my guys for years now and have had no problems. The price has always been great and customer services has been great also.
Generic Heartgard
Great med for preventing heart worms. Though it's not that easy to give to your dogs. Wrapping it in cheese or bacon or their favorite treat might help. Just trick on your dog and you're good to go.
Works well
Even if it's generic, it works well on my dog. I had my dog checked twice this year and yes, he's negative to heart worms. That simply means the meds are effective and does really work.
