Product Detail: Generic Heartgard (Ivermectin)
Nuheart Generic Heartgard Alternative is a monthly treatment for the prevention of heartworm in canines. This generic medication contains the same ingredient at the same dose rate as the Heartgard brand of Heartworm prevention medication, so it has just the same effectiveness, but costs a fraction of the price.
Nuheart makes dosing easy! The tablets are very small in size, across the entire range, which ensures easier dosing and less rejection. And Nuheart’s sweetly meat flavoured base is attractive to dogs and makes "tablet time" simple. For difficult dogs, Nuheart can even be dissolved quickly in a small amount of water and mixed in the pet’s food, so they won’t even know they’ve had their medication.
Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions: Adverse reactions may occur when dogs already infested with adult heartworm or microfilariae are treated with Nuheart tablets. It is important to check the dog for such infestations prior to treatment.Nuheart tablets have a wide margin of safety in most dogs, but some adverse reactions may occur especially in Collies and Border Collies. If a dog develops untoward effects a veterinarian should be consulted immediately.
Dosage and Administration: Treatment should occur regularly at monthly intervals. Give the dog one tablet once a month on the same day or within a few days of the same day. If a tablet is missed in a month the prevention program may not be effective and a veterinarian should be consulted.
Give tablet by placing it on back of dog’s tongue and pushing it down throat with finger. Alternatively, tablet can be dissolved in 5 to 10 mL warm water or other fluid and added to the dog’s feed. Ensure entire dose is consumed; if it is not, give another tablet.
If a tablet is missed by not more than seven days give a tablet immediately and resume the monthly dosing program. If more than seven days has elapsed, consult your veterinarian for advice.

Storage: Store below 30 deg. C (room temperature). Protect from light.

Great product, effective, and can't beat the price
Heartworm protection
I have ordered the Generic Heartgard for several years now from Joe's Pet Meds and I have never had a single problem. It always arrives quickly and it protects my pet against heartworms just as well as anything else on the market. Even when my vet thought my cocker spaniel had heartworms because I hadn't bought it from her we proved her wrong. It works every time as long as you use it as directed. Thank you Joe's Pet Meds for furnishing us with quality medication at a fraction of the price we'd pay from the vet or other manufacturer. I am a believer!
Great Product
For years I've overpaid on heartworm and flea and tick medicine. I was reading comments online about something and someone just happened to mention Joes and I've been using them ever since! The same product as the names brands for half the price, what's not to love?

Love the product and price
I have been ordering from joe's pet meds for several years now and even order for my sister in law. I have been very pleased with their products as well as price and the time it comes in the mail. I would recommended anyone to use their products. we have 5 dogs total that we give the nuheart heartworm med to and never have had any problems.

Love that Joes Pet Meds offers a generic option for heartworm prevention. I've had my French Bulldog and Doberman on the Generic Heartguard product since I found Joes a few years ago with no problems. We live in SWFL, where there are mosquitoes pretty much all year round. Tabs are easy to mix in food or with a little bit of peanut butter. Thanks Joes Pet Meds for a selection of great products, an easy to use website, and super fast shipping!
