Heartgard Plus
Heartgard Plus is indicated for use in dogs to prevent canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection, and for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms.

How Heartgard Plus works
Heartgard Plus prevents canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense).
How can you properly administer Heartgard Plus?
Heartgard Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) should be administered orally at monthly intervals at the recommended minimum dose level of 6 mcg of ivermectin per kilogram (2.72 mcg/lb) and 5 mg of pyrantel (as pamoate salt) per kg (2.27 mg/lb) of body weight. The recommended dosing schedule for the prevention of canine heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of ascarids and hookworms is as follows:

Heartgard Plus is recommended for dogs 6 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lb use the appropriate combination of these chewables.
What are the precautions in using Heartgard Plus?
All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with Heartgard Plus which is not effective against adult D. immitis. Infected dogs must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with Heartgard Plus. While some microfilariae may be killed by the ivermectin in Heartgard Plus at the recommended dose level, Heartgard Plus is not effective for microfilariae clearance. A mild hypersensitivity-type reaction, presumably due to dead or dying microfilariae and particularly involving a transient diarrhea, has been observed in clinical trials with ivermectin alone after treatment of some dogs that have circulating microfilariae.

Great product!
My dogs love their Heartgard plus monthly "medicine". They think it's a treat and it works fantastic! I adopted an 8 year old Rottweiler who had heartworm and Heartgard Plus knocked it out of her system quickly. I'll never use another heartworm preventative.
Preventive
Thanks to Heartgard Plus. My dog never had any heart worms. Since he's a pup I'm already giving this to him and it's very effective. It's good to know that my dog is safe and protected from heart worms. Big thanks!
Chewable Heartgard plus
I've been using this product for many years. It is very effective and my dogs love them.It's a special once a month treat. When they see the package come out of the pantry they get very excited. No problems giving this preventative.
Heartgard Plus & Joe's Pet Meds
I have been using Heartgard plus for years but with 3 dogs it can get very expensive. So when the rescue group I adopted from suggested Joe's I gave it a chance. Wow same product for much less. Yes I have to wait a while for delivery but it is so worth it.

Protected from heart worms
Received my third pack of Heartgard chewables and this is totally awesome. My dog never had any heart worms.

My dogs have had this from the Vet and this is the same product but half the cost or more. I have tried the generic but the dogs will not take it. This they take as if it were a treat. Their heart worm tests return negative each time.
Original is the best
You still got to buy this cheaper than letting your dog suffer from a heart worm disease and just decide then to treat the heart worms. Great preventive. And is very effective. You won't regret buying this one.

I just received my shipment of Heartgard & Frontline and I am so tickled not to have to leave the house to get these amazing products. I have a german Shephred and a mixed dog and they both are going oin 8 years old and seem to be completely healthy and HAPPY(NO FLEAS ORTICKS).
